In an increasingly interconnected digital age, Artificial Intelligence is radically transforming the way we interact with technology. Despite the notable impact of Chat GPT, we often miss the extent to which AI has long been present in our daily lives, influencing different sectors and improving our experience. In addition to its notable impact in chat and text generation services, Artificial Intelligence takes different forms and helps to revolutionise many aspects of our daily lives.

But how can we categorise AI? Artificial Intelligence takes different forms, each characterised by a unique level of specialisation and complexity. In addition to the well-known GPT Chats, there are other variants of AI, including Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI), which are rewriting the rules of our relationship with technology in myriad applications. Artificial Narrow Intelligence, or ANI, is a category of Artificial Intelligence that is specialised and narrow in its abilities. This represents the only type of AI that has been successfully created so far. The ANI is designed to perform specific operations with considerable intelligence and expertise. A tangible example of ANI is the ChatBot, which uses natural language processing (NLP) to interact with users in a personalised and natural way.

In addition to GPT Chat, there are several other highly specialised Artificial Intelligence applications. Google, for example, makes extensive use of Rankbrain to improve search results and content classification. Apple created Siri, while Amazon boasts the virtual assistant Alexa, and Microsoft offers its virtuous assistant Cortana. IBM stands out with Watson, known for its data analytics capabilities.

However, AI goes further, extending to the field of facial and image recognition, the prediction of diseases and outcomes, the use of robots in production contexts and drones to optimise industrial processes. AI is also involved in implementing spam filters and social media monitoring tools, identifying dangerous content. It also helps to suggest entertainment content or marketing strategies based on user behaviour. A notable example is the growth of self-driving cars, which represents a surprising innovation thanks to specialised AI. And what are the prospects of this evolution? AI is constantly changing, and the goal is to look beyond Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI).

The main challenge is to achieve Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), also known as strong AI, a field in which machines will be able to think and make decisions in a similar way to humans. AGI aims to create machines capable of performing diversified tasks and acting as realistic assistants in everyday life. Currently, there are no examples of strong AI, but the foundations for AGI could be built through cutting-edge technologies such as supercomputers, quantum hardware and Generative Artificial Intelligence models, such as the already well-known ChatGPT. Beyond AGI, the hypothesis of Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) is looming, a highly advanced form of AI that would surpass human intelligence in multiple cognitive areas. ASI represents the pinnacle of AI, even if at the moment it remains predominantly a theoretical entity often portrayed in science fiction.

In summary, AI is constantly evolving, with AGI and ASI as ambitious goals for the future. These developments promise to transform technology and society in ways that just a few years ago seemed distant from reality. However, it is crucial to pay critical attention to the ethical and social challenges that could emerge in this transformational journey.

Many companies (including some of our customers) are advising their customers to work remotely or are preparing for this eventuality. The good news is that as a customer of VOIspeed you already have the capability of remote work using the VOIspeed App.

Login to your VOIspeed User Interface (ask us your details if you do not have them)

Send your mobile number and your VOIspeed extension to support@voispeed.co.uk

Download the App. Ask each employee whether on Android or Apple to search VOIspeed and install the App.

Select your mobile as the main device on the App (NOT on the software running on your PC)

If you are part of a group and want your mobile to ring, then you may need to change your personal settings. Get in touch with us support@voispeed.co.uk

To avoid feeling completely isolated upload a picture of yourself (possibly smiling!) to your User Interface and encourage others to do the same, as it will also appear on your App, and will help you feel more connected with other people

Practise using the App. At VOIspeed Ltd we do not all remote work at present but are practising using the App to take your calls… in case we have to!

We have a ‘how to’ on our website support page: http://voispeed.co.uk/voispeed-app/ and advice on our Linked In page about remote working too.

For any other questions do get in touch with Dan and Said emailing support@voispeed.co.uk

Once enabled on your UCloud UI, you can view hunt group traffic and activity in real-time by clicking on the Groups TAB, which may be called ‘Call Centre’.

HTML 5 GUI

In case of our VOIspeed application is not installed or we would like to have a quick access to our phones, users, voicemail etc…we can use the VOIspeed browser GUI for our convenience. A GUI is available for almost every device which uses Internet these days and has an Internet Browser installed on it. A GUI works in the same way as the VOIspeed application (requires installation) however is quicker to access and use. It can be bookmarked in the browser so with a one click you can be transferred to your phone world.

To access a GUI you have to just simply go to your server (in the Cloud) (i.e bellatrix.cluana.com: 3542) and enter the data below:

To finish all process press SAVE and finally you should be logged in.

Your final interface should look as on the picture below:

The GUI pops up on the screen

If your GUI pops us on screen for no reason (i.e. you have not received calls or made calls, or touched the phone at all), your extension could have been accidentally set onto a Polycom phone application which forces the it to popup whenever the handset is lifted.

Please find below the URL and parameters that are used by the Polycom phone causing the GUI to pop up:

http://IPServer:Port/polycom?@<domain>

Firstly you need to look for the extension number in the parameter which could be set as your extension number in the other phone. You can find out the which phone has your extension in the parameter by looking at the text log of PBX string and then look for “handset status change received from inside@domain“ which is followed by the IP address of the phone that made the pop up request. You can remove your extension number after finding the IP address from the text log file.

Installation on a Terminal Server

The phone server versions after 6.3.18 allow you to install the GUI on a Terminal server without requiring administrator help.

Below are the steps to configure it on a Terminal Server:

Run the set up file as an administrator

The GUI set up will create the configuration files for all the users created on phone server

Once the installation is finished then each user will be able to use it by entering their login details

When the file transfer does not work on V6 (the status bar stays on 0%) it is possible that the client PC’s IP address is not configured correctly. In particular when there is more than one IP address with multiple classes, it is possible that the system may not be able to determine on which IP address the sockets of the GUI should receive data packets.

GUI also uses peer to peer network for downloading the files which uses different local ports from the ports used for the server communication and Firewall can prevent the downloading if it is not configured properly.

In the case of Windows firewall, you should proceed as follows:

Logout.

Go to Windows Firewall from the control panel

Under the advanced settings of the Firewall, disable the all inbound rules related to “v6 GUI”

Once you start the GUI, Firewall windows will pop up and enable both authorizations Public and Private.

Steps to solve the problem related to IP addresses are as follows:

Open the config.ini file (in Advanced Configuration within VOIspeed folder).

Enter the IP address in the section UserAccount as local_ftp=X.X.X.X.
